Background to University of Limpopo Thuthuka Project
This project has as its prime objective the increase of the number of black Chartered Accountants in South Africa.  The project started in 2004 with the following two main objectives:

  • To build capacity at the University of Limpopo (UL) towards its achieving the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) accreditation for its Bachelor of Accounting Science (BAccSc – Bcompt)  programme. 
  • To identify and nurture talent from the rural areas of Limpopo and provide these students with access to a quality education and an opportunity to qualify as Chartered Accountants.  Read More..

Thuthuka Project Funding - Proposal
The School of Accountancy (SoA) strives to be quality driven, recognized for training accountancy professionals and advancing thought leadership relevant to developmental needs of South Africa.
To achieve this mandate, SoA is a progressive, developing and delivering strong quality accountancy professional programmes, conducting research and engaging meaningfully with stakeholders to support and produce relevant graduates.
